A LOUISIANA JUMP$TART COALITION EVENT
The goal of the Louisiana Jump$tart Coalition is to encourage the development of on going local financial strategies to educate citizens in each of Louisiana’s cities and towns about financial issues. With improved personal income, money management and planning skills, citizens are in a better position to accumulate and retain wealth, own homes, raise healthy families, educate their children and invest in small businesses.

By joining the YOUR MONEY WEEK campaign, you agree to organize and implement local financial education programs in the communities you serve focusing on the areas of education, credit card and debt management, savings, home ownership, identity theft, credit scores, credit reports, and more.
If you would like to join in the YOUR MONEY WEEK campaign, please complete and return the enclosed sign up PROJECT DESCRIPTION FORM. We recommend that you focus your educational efforts on one core group, or choose to expand an existing financial education program in your community.
Core groups could include:
- First-time homebuyers
- The unbanked community
- Students (elementary, middle school, high school and college)
- The elderly
- Retirees
- Immigrants
- Your employees
Collaborate with advocacy and professional groups on financial education and its impact on the lives of our citizens and the effect it has on our cities. These groups will include:
- Banks, Credit Union, and other financial lending institutions
- Senior Citizens Associations
- Chambers of Commerce
- Government agencies
- Local Business Leaders
- Schools, universities, and community colleges
- Real Estate Companies
- Faith Based Groups
- Parent/Teacher Associations
At the local level you are free to set your own priorities and courses of action to educate your core group. For more information or specific resource material and curricula for these targeted groups, please refer to MyMoney.gov and www.jumpstartclearinghouse.org.
